Interactive Business Analysis That Empowers Business Users

CorVu has a purpose-built application that provides a comprehensive information analysis, reporting and business intelligence platform that empowers business information consumers.

CorBusiness is typically installed on a Windows application server and can be connected to almost any data base, SQL Server, Oracle, Progress, My SQL etc, it’s not the overlying business application but the relational database that we connect to. CorVu uses a fast connection called Advanced Broker Architecture (ABA) either directly from CorBusiness to the data base or CorBusiness to ABA to ODBC to data base and is therefore much faster at retrieving data than most other solutions. Queries, reports, graphs, executive alerts, pivot tables and schedules are typically built by a few ‘power users’ within an organisation and because of it’s intuitive user interface CorBusiness does not have to be owned by IT, any PC literate person who can use Windows applications can get to grips with it. The value proposition with CorBusiness is it’s easy of use, connection speed scheduler and that it can be connected to almost and type of database. CorBusiness has two license types, Enterprise for the power user and Personal if an end user is going to use the application just to view reports. Security can be set as fine as row level data with a comprehensive configuration for groups or individuals and can be configured with Active Directory or LDAP for authentication. CorBusiness is a read only application and will never write back to a data base. CorBusiness carries out most of the number crunching on the power users pc.

CorPortfolio is a desktop publishing application where any CorVu query, report, graph, executive alert pivot table can be brought together into a reporting pack along with any other OLE file. The reporting pack can be given a cover page and index followed by as many additional pages of content an organisation wishes. All of this can be viewed either directly through CorBusiness or via HyperVu. Typically a one page CorPortfolio is used to place report objects on to build end user dashboards. CorPortfolio is part of CorBusiness but a licensed application and one Enterprise CorPortfolio license for every one CorBusiness Enterprise license.

HyperVu is a browser based application running on an application server requiring no software to be installed on a users pc. HyperVu brings together the objects a power user will have developed into a configurable format for end users within an organisation to view. HyperVu empowers users in that they can drill down into any level of granularity the underlying data supports, they can also drill across data by being able to change parameters on graphs and pivot tables. Again any pc experienced person can easily use HyperVu. HyperVu generally requites IIS to be installed on the application server where all the number crunching is done.
